Is the Four-Faced Buddha Really a Buddha?
The truth is, the Four-Faced Buddha is not actually a Buddha. In Buddhist tradition, He is known as Phra Phrom, or Brahma, the Great King of the Brahma Realm. According to Buddhist scriptures, beings in the Brahma Realm possess four faces, symbolizing the Four Sublime Virtues: loving-kindness, compassion, empathetic joy, and equanimity.
Brahma is also one of the three principal deities in Hinduism, revered as the Creator. In Thailand, He is widely honored as the God of Wish Fulfillment. Devotees believe that sincere prayers for success, wealth, health, love, or family happiness are heard and blessed by Him. This is why the Four-Faced God has become one of the most revered and beloved deities throughout Thailand and Southeast Asia.
四面佛其实不是佛？
四面佛，其实还未成佛，具体来说是四面神。根据佛教经典记载，祂被称为“大梵天王”。在大梵天界的众生都有四面，象征“慈、悲、喜、舍”四无量心。四面神是印度婆罗门教三大主神之一，代表创造之神，属于天神类。
在泰国，四面神被誉为成愿之神，所求之愿容易实现，因而备受信徒们的崇敬和信仰。 信徒们相信，只要诚心祈求，无论是事业、健康、爱情还是家庭，四面神都会听到并帮助实现愿望。四面佛的四面分别代表慈悲、财富、健康和智慧，象征着人们生活中的各个方面。由于成愿率高，四面神在泰国乃至东南亚地区享有极高的声誉，成为许多人心中的守护神。
